Awareness Cambodia’s Business Adoption Programme
It’s difficult for me to talk about Awareness Cambodia without first
talking about the lives that continue to inspire and unite our workers
“at the coalface” and donors alike. I’m talking about the children who
somehow in the “lotto of life”, found themselves born into a country
ravaged by devastating war and widespread land mining, crippled by
debilitating disease and endemic poverty, casualties of an educational
vacuum and victims of ongoing exploitation. And secondly a growing caring community who as a result of believing these children’s lives deserve protection and have a right to seeing their basic needs satisfied have adopted them as their own and are now beginning to see a new future of hope and optimism realised; all through simply providing something we can easily take for granted, opportunity. Awareness Cambodia’s Australia Business Adoption programme introduces a fresh medium for businesses and corporate leaders with a sense of appreciation for the opportunities we enjoy along with a broader obligation to humanity to join this caring community in sharing our opportunities with those born in disadvantage. It also opens an avenue for business and corporate leaders, should they wish, to personally experience the transformation of these children’s lives through “hands on” involvement. I mean why simply read the results of your support in the pages of a report when you can see it firsthand on the face of a child! Through partnering financially and promoting Awareness Cambodia’s Business Adoption programme and initiatives among friends and peers, businesses and corporations can demonstrate a very practical commitment to humankind while helping deliver much needed services to Cambodia’s poor, disadvantaged and orphan children. Coming from a professional background I’m aware that we can’t all leave positions of responsibility to operate in the field. I’m also acutely aware we can’t hope to alleviate all of the immense needs in countries outside our borders during our lifetime, but in adopting Awareness Cambodia along with those lives Awareness Cambodia continues to adopt, each of us is taking ownership in making someone else’s load in life a little lighter and in doing so building a platform others can stand on to realise their dream. If equality in this life is something you value, if you believe in providing hope for the most disadvantaged and protection of the innocent, then join me today and invest in programmes that create lasting change; become a member of Awareness Cambodia’s Business Adoption programme. Workplace Giving – Australia
It is easy for your company to make a real impact with the children of the Cambodia. All you have to do is set up a “Workplace Giving” program. Your employees will then be able to give to Awareness Cambodia through their pay. The administration is simple, the cost to the business is minimal and your staff will thank you. Plus it’s a great way to show your commitment to the broader world. Matching gifts Some companies choose to match employee donations. You can match your employees ‘dollar-for-dollar’, or you can pay a percentage of the total they raise. It is a great way to offer added support to your staff. By matching employee contributions, employees know that their charitable donations go further and that their employer equals their commitment to community development. Employers Questions How are donations receipted? Once your Workplace Giving program is operating, employers advise employees of the annual amount they each donate. The employer can provide each employee with a letter or email that advises the total amount or, the information can be included on pay slips or yearly employee Group Certificates. How do I confirm Awareness Cambodia's status? If you want, you can easily check the tax deduction status of Awareness Cambodia. You can do this via the Australian Business Register at www.abr.gov.au you’ll need to quote our ABN number which is: 69234355895 Need more Information? Employees Questions How does the tax benefit work? With Workplace Giving, you are giving a pre-tax donation. Your donation is taken out of your pay before tax is taken. Your taxable income is reduced. You pay less tax. How much do you have to give? Awareness Cambodia is happy to accept any amount. It’s completely your choice. No amount is too small to make a positive difference to the lives of disadvantaged children. Do I get a receipt? At the end of the tax year, your employer will give you a complete record of your donations. Awareness Cambodia does not issue individual receipts to employees. We issue each employer with a receipt (including an annual payment summary) for all payments received. You and your workplace would be demonstrating a commitment to building a fair and healthy global community where all people are able to reach their full potential. |
